Overview
As discussed in District Income: Calculations, Champion Income accounts for roughly 50% of the Gold coming from your
Districts. As such, getting the most out of your Champions is an
important part of optimizing your District Income. While the Game
Developers did provide a lot of information to help Players out, they also
provided several confusing errors that can result in incorrect conclusions.
Champion Income is equal to the Leadership stat on your Champions, which comes
from four sources:
- Specific Champions: some Champions have higher baseline Leadership than others
- Rarity: increasing Rarity increases Leadership
- Level: increasing Level increases Leadership
- Traits: some Traits improve your Leadership stat
Here we'll investigate these four aspects of optimizing District Income from
Champions
Conclusions
Specific Champions
Since we can only assign certain Champions to certain Districts, we need to
have separate rankings for each District Type. Here we provide a sorted
list for each District Type containing several items:
- Clan and Gender of the Champion
- Leadership value for a Level 600, Mythic Champion without any Trait modifications
- Ratio of the Leadership value to the Minimum for this District Type
- Ratio of the Leadership value to the Minimum across all District Types
Seeing the Ratios lets you easily see how much you're missing out on by
using lower-ranked Champions.

Champion Leadership - Agriculture Districts |
Gryphon Male and Female are both quite a bit better than the baseline
Champions for Agriculture Districts, which is great because the Gryphon
Companion is 1-star. This means you can mass-produce Mythic Heirs for
these Districts to get high Level and best Traits Champions.

Champion Leadership - Entertainment Districts |
The Luxuriant Champions are amazing, with the Female one being the highest
District Income for Entertainment Districts - actually all Districts - by
quite a large margin. Unfortunately, her Companion is 3-star, which
means you can't mass-produce Champions to Level her up, and her Role is Mage,
which means you'll be using all of your weak Champions in the Altar to level
up your Ignis, Fulgur, and Aeson Fighting Champions. Travain Champions
are the best backup, since their Companion is 1-star and you can easily level
them up with the best Traits.

Champion Leadership - Production Districts |
There aren't too many good Warrior Champions for Fighting, so having
Doombringer be the best Champion for Production Districts is quite
useful. You can use up your weak Warrior Champions to get as much
District Income out of your Male Doombringer.

Champion Leadership - Trade Districts |
Yivnian Male is probably you're best bet here, since you get so many of them
from World Map Collection. Fulgur Champions are simply too good at
Fighting to give them Leadership Traits and use them for Districts.
All together, using the best Specific Champions can give you a roughly 50%
boost in Leadership as compared to using the worst Champions for each
District Type.
Rarity
Increasing Rarity by 1 (e.g. - from Epic to Legendary) multiplies
Leadership by 1.2
Level
Increasing Level from OldLevel to NewLevel multiplies Leadership by (1 + 0.2
* (NewLevel - 1)) / (1 + 0.2 * (OldLevel - 1))
Traits
Each Champion assigned to your Districts should aim to have Trait Level 18
in both Traits that modify Leadership:
- Noble: Level 18 increases your Leadership by 40%
- Confident: Level 18 increases your Leadership by 800
The 40% modifier is applied after Confident increases the
Leadership by 800, so the two Traits work together very nicely.
Methodology
The Game Developers provided us with Stat values (Leadership, Constitution,
Strength, Fortitude) for all Level 600, Mythic Champions. You can
access this by clicking on Champions from the Main Screen, selecting the
Renowned Champion tab, and then selecting the specific Champion you're
interested in. Unfortunately, the Leadership values here had a variety
of errors up until the beginning of December 2022:
- They corresponded to the Leadership values for a Level 287 Champion and not Level 600.
- Some Champions had identical Mythic Leadership values as other Champions (Orost was a copy of White Eye Leadership), even though their observed Rare Leadership values were not equal.
- Harul was properly listed with Level 600 values while nothing else was.
These errors may have been fixed, but prior to being fixed we could not
trust the Leadership values from the Renowned Champion tab. Even
after the fix we don't have much faith in the updated values since the
mistakes had been in for six months prior.
To arrive at our own values, we determined what the formula was to convert a
given Champion's Level 1, Common Leadership value into any Rarity and
Level. This was done by observing the Leadership values for the
following Matrix of summoned Champions:
(Common, Rare, Epic, Legendary, Mythic) X (Level 1, Level 40, Level 120,
Level 200)
Unfortunately, these values are rounded to the nearest Integer, producing a
source of noise when trying to arrive at accurate predictions for Level 600,
Mythic. To get around this, we modelled each Champion with both
Additive and Multiplicative behavior when modifying Rarity and Level, as it
wasn't clear what the relationship would be. After determining that
Rarity was Multiplicative and Level was Additive, we averaged the behavior
over all Champions to arrive at Rarity multiplicatively increasing
Leadership by 1.2 with each improvement in Rarity, and Level additively
increasing Leadership by 0.2 times the Level 1 Leadership for the given
Rarity.
Finally we performed a Least Squares fit separately on each Champion to
arrive at their Level 1, Common Leadership values with precision higher than
Integer. With these values, and the relationship determined for Rarity
and Level, we could predict the Leadership values for Level 600, Mythic and
populate the above tables.
