Bloodline: Heroes of Lithas

We took a look at the Mobile App: "Bloodline: Heroes of Lithas", a mobile Collection/RPG game available from both Google and Apple.  The game has some interesting aspects that distinguish it from other Collection/RPG games, but there's definitely a learning curve to understand what's going on due to a lack of in-game explanation.

To reach the top of the Leaderboards without spending money, we had to deep-dive a few aspects of the game:

Traits: Tier List Traits: Tier List - Which traits are the best for different Champion Classes?
Traits: Generation Traits: Generation - How likely are you to get different Traits?
District Income: Calculations District Income: Calculations - How is District Income calculated?
District Income: Champions District Income: Champions - Which Champions are best for each District?
Dungeon Descent Dungeon Descent - How can we reach Level 25 of Dungeon Descent?
Skills Skills - When do Skills activate?  How much does it cost to Upgrade them?
Skills Champion Stats -What do the different Stats mean?  What are the values for each Champion?

There's much more work that could have been done, most notably producing a "Champions: Tier List".  This will be done in the future.

Game Overview

You assemble a team of Champions and develop your City, competing in both PvE modes (Player vs Environment: fighting against opponents assembled by the Computer / Game Developers) and PvP modes (Player vs Player: fighting against opponents assembled by other Human Players, although the battles are not controlled by Humans).

Advancing your Champions and City requires a number of different resources, which can be obtained by completing Daily Quests, advancing in the Campaign, and participating in the 2-4 Special Events that are typically happening at one time.  New Champions are released with decent frequency (at least once per month), which can be good or bad depending on your interests.

Server sizes seem to be kept fairly small at a few hundred people, though Special Events and some PvP modes are Cross-Server which gives you access to a much larger pool of opponents.  Daily Participation is necessary if you want to be in the top-10 on your Server, or if you want to be competitive in Cross-Server gameplay.

The primary game mechanic that sets Bloodline apart from other similar games is the "Marriage" mechanic, which can be accessed from your Champion Portrait or from the Royal Hall building in your City.  Marriage allows you to combine elements of two Champions into a single Heir that inherits Traits from both parents.  While your Champions can have different Equipment and different class-based bonuses from the Guardian's Stone, Marriage/Traits are the main way to distinguish your Champions from other Players.
